Pyrimad Project

This course was about the different theories on how the pyramids were built. From all the research I did, I went with an Egyptian wall painting style. I used known colors from that time and references Egyptian paintings to plan out the designs.

Myths Project

The goal was to fit as many myths from around the world as possible, and draw them in a comic style. I went with an old comic style with flat colors and black shadows, and gave each scene its own panel box that would animate in the video.  To connect the myths to modern-day superheroes, I had the first four panels deal with the same meteor shower. Telling a story with pure visuals.

Civics Project

This charming style was created for elementary school students. The idea was for it to feel like a colorful cartoon to help the kids learn.

Colosseum Project

I went with a watercolor sketch style to help romanticize what the Colosseum had looked like in its glory days. (Minus the painted walls). It was important to have clean lines for this one, as I wanted it to feel fully decorated but not busy with line details. Each image had some video movement planned, and needed to look nice for the pans.

Shakespeare Project

The project style for this was inspired by 1500s-1600s illustrations that were very line-based. Kept the colors to a minimum to preserve the feeling it was old paper.

Machu Picchu Project

Because this was about exploring, the decided style was to feel like a travel sketch done with charcoal and pastels. They're a little cleaner than your normal travel sketch because they did have to animate quite a bit. After the illustrations are character designs for 3D to reference.

Industrial Revolution Project

Since this was about progress, I wanted this style to have fine clean lines and be more detailed. This contrasted nicely from the images feeling dirty. That inspiration was taken from old print illustrations showing how dirty it was to live in it.

Panama Canal Project

Half of these illustrations are to a video that got canceled. The idea was to have documents laying on a desk on top of each other to reveal information, illustrations and historic images. Project changed a bit and need smaller images in a old postcard for short info popups.

Company Service Project

Every item on screen needed to be able to animate. I designed every asset in Adobe Illustrator and laid out the scenes with reusable assets. This was designed to teach new guest what services the company provided.

Miscellaneous

Random pieces ranging from backgrounds for animations to characters to concept designs.
